Everybody gets trolls in their team sometimes, and that is a really frustrating thing to experience in multiplayer games, especially in League Of Legends due to its competitiveness. But what if we tell you that trolls, ragers and bad players are actually helping you to improve your rank?
This doesn’t sound right, does it? How can these players help us climb in the ranked ladder? Well, they don’t directly help us by carrying our ranked games, having them in the game mathematically helps us because there are higher chances to get those players in the enemy team than on ours, assuming that we don’t troll or rage.
There are 5 random players in the enemy team and 4 on our ally team, so theoretically, if a troll or rager queues for a game, there is a 56% chance of that player being placed in the enemy team, and a 44% chance of being placed in our team. So as long as you play enough games, you’ll get more LP from these players than you lose.
This also helps explaining why players with a lot of ranked games played tend to get better win rates (above 50%). Obviously this only increases our win rate by a low percentage, but it might be the difference between staying Silver I and achieving Gold IV!
